Terroist Attacks on U.S. Transit
We have received word that the top U.S. Transit Agencies in the U.S. were called to Washington, D.C. two weeks ago to discuss classified Homeland Security data. Supposedly the Intelligence Community has lost track of key al Qaida operatives in the U.S. These operatives were reportedly preparing attacks on U.S. Transit. Why hasn't the main stream media reported on this issue?

You were hard-pressed to find the story or to see the images anywhere in the mainstream media - three unarmed Iraqi election officials recently murdered in cold blood on their way to work - dragged from their car and shot in the head, execution style, by spineless terrorists - the entire massacre caught on film. Their crime? - Helping to further the cause of a free and democratic Iraq.
Since the end of major combat operations, hundreds upon hundreds of innocent Iraqi men, women and children have been deliberately targeted and blown limb from limb by foreign invaders - by the same Al Qaeda, Muslim fundamentalist terrorists who murdered three thousand Americans on 9-11, and who would gleefully kill every American man woman and child if they could.
But to the liberal media - to the left, these terrorists are merely “Iraqi Insurgents” - noble freedom fighters skillfully and willfully endeavoring to rid Iraq of the great Satan - wronged rebels attempting to righteously combat an “illegal” American led foreign “occupation.” The blame-America-first crowd prefers to lay responsibility for the death of innocents at the feet of the true enemy…President Bush - Donald Rumsfeld - the American soldier - the United States!
Michael Moore, the bloated, bloviating propagandist filmmaker who was seated in great prominence at this year’s Democratic National Convention, perhaps best personifies today’s left. This morsel of Moore wisdom nicely sums up the liberal take on the terrorists: “The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not ‘insurgents’ or ‘terrorists’ or ‘The Enemy.’ They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow - and they will win.”
In wars past, prior to the advent of “political correctness,” these words would likely have been considered treasonous, and may have even been actionable. Many regard them as treasonous still today - or at least - deem both the words, and those who acknowledge them… un-American.
But such people are not un-American. They are American (notwithstanding the fact that they are clearly ashamed to be). What they are is anti-American. The irony is palpable - They loathe the very Country in which they possess the inalienable right to spew such poisonous tripe without fear of retribution. They have nothing but disdain for the men and women who have died, and continue to die so that they can freely and richly live out their lives as thankless, pitiful, misguided blowhards.
In truth, these anti-American Americans embody the terrorists’ false hope for victory. They unwittingly add fuel to the fire. As they besmirch our Nation’s noble effort to provide freedom and democracy to the Iraqi people, these naysayers - these purveyors of doom and gloom only help to galvanize the terrorists - to embolden them and strengthen their resolve. Whether or not they realize it, their actions severely undermine progress in the war on terror. They have become unwitting terrorist allies. As a result of their words and deeds, American troops and innocent Iraqis have died - and will continue to die.
War is hell! It’s an extremely tough road that lies ahead. The upcoming Iraqi elections will prove to be a pivotal milestone, signifying the beginning of the end for the terrorists. As they continue to ramp up their murderous efforts, don’t think they don’t realize it.
But already, America and the world are safer with Saddam Hussein dethroned. To a large degree, the Iraqis are a liberated people - the majority of them will tell you that. They’re free from the clutches of the evil despot responsible for the murder, rape and torture of hundreds of thousands of innocents. The Butcher of Baghdad will never again fill mass graves with the tortured bodies of the blameless. His minions will never again rape and murder little girls as their fathers are forced to watch. He now sits in prison awaiting his fate, which lies in the hands of the very people he victimized. With freedom comes justice - and despite the best efforts of the terrorists and their anti-American allies - freedom and justice will prevail in Iraq.
The media latched on to the story like a pit-bull to a poodle – It’s been a perfect obsession. Coverage of the case has saturated the airwaves for over two years, with the Fox News Channel taking the lead…OK Greta, on the record – we get it – enough already!
As nearly everyone on the planet knows by now, former Modesto, California fertilizer salesman Scott Peterson was recently convicted of double murder for killing his 27-year-old wife Laci, and the couple’s unborn son Conner. It seems the jury concluded that Mark Geragos, Peterson’s illustrious, high-dollar defense attorney, was trying to sell them his own smooth line of fertilizer; but they weren’t buying – They recommended Peterson be put to death.
Although the mainstream media has fixated on the case ad nauseam, further discourse is warranted in light of its profound implications relative to the ongoing, and highly polarized abortion debate.
During the trial, for some inexplicable reason, the mainstream media generally abandoned its time-honored and typically unwavering “pro-choice” rhetoric, and began referring to baby Conner by such “egregious” terms as, “Scott and Laci’s unborn son,” “the unborn child,” and simply, “Conner.”
After recommending the death sentence, Juror Richelle Nice told reporters: “Scott Peterson was Laci’s Husband, Conner’s Daddy – the one person that should have protected them.”
But for Planned Parenthood, the National Organization for Women (NOW), and other militant abortion peddlers, the use of such language in reference to baby Conner has caused much gnashing of teeth – it’s left them seething – frothing at the mouth in a panicked frenzy.
They’ve struggled long and hard, and with much success, to dehumanize unborn children by placing upon them such euphemistic, innocuous, and clinical tags as “zygote,” “embryo,” “fetus,” and my personal favorite, “non-viable mass of tissue.”
Ironically, the word fetus is Latin for “young one,” and what really has the “pro-choicers” up in arms is the fact that this particular young one’s high profile murder was treated as just that…a murder. When Scott Peterson (apparently) killed Laci, his criminal actions additionally resulted in Conner’s death; or, euphemistically speaking – another “terminated pregnancy.”
Legal recognition that Scott Peterson murdered Conner, his unborn son, has unintentionally had the effect of bestowing upon Conner the precious, and heretofore judicially rationed status of “personhood.” You can’t murder a “non-viable mass of tissue.” But now, legally – and always, actually – you can murder an unborn person. Of course science, commonsense, and reality dictate that unborn children have always been persons.
Ultimately, the principles represented by this case pose a tremendous setback to the pro-abortion movement, and present a great step forward in protecting the lives of the most innocent and vulnerable of our citizenry. Those principles are further bolstered by ‘Laci and Conner’s Law’ (the Unborn Victims of Violence Act). President Bush signed the legislation last April. It mirrors existing laws in 29 states, and makes it a federal crime to harm an unborn child during an assault on the mother. It’s the first Federal law to give unborn children a status separate from their mothers. Additionally, it’s the first federal law to more accurately refer to the “fetus” as an unborn child.
Still, the battle that lies ahead is a daunting one. Obviously, the fight will continue, and only become more turbulent. There’s so much more that remains to be done in fostering a culture of life, and eliminating a culture of death. In her concise but cogent essay Scott Peterson’s 'Choice', Concerned Women for America Chief Council Jan LaRue points out the following:
Simply put, the status of the unborn under the law and his right to life turns on whether the mother has him killed or someone else does so without her consent. It is the most egregious example of an incongruity in law that one can imagine.
LaRue goes on to explain:
There would have been no murder charge if Laci Peterson had ended Conner's life by abortion on Christmas Eve, and Scott Peterson would have been powerless to stop it.
Consider for a moment – attempt to rationalize if you will, how it is that a father can kill his unborn child, be convicted of that child’s murder, and himself face the death penalty – while on the same day, a mother can elect to have her unborn child killed, spend time in a recovery room, go home to conceive again, and repeat the cycle as many times as she “chooses.”
Under the guise of a phantom “Constitutional right,” and with vigorous encouragement from Planned Parenthood, NOW, and their extremist ilk – millions of women per year do just that…have their unborn children killed. The “pro-choice” mantra: “It’s the woman’s right to choose!” – “get over your love affair with the fetus!” – “Keep your laws off my body!”
Well, sweetheart, it’s not your body we’re talking about – Conner Peterson, like so many millions of unborn children, had his own body, his own blood type, his own brainwaves, and his own heartbeat. Conner Peterson, like so many millions of unborn children, sucked his thumb, got the hiccups, cried, and smiled in his mother’s womb. Conner Peterson, like so many millions of unborn children, had his own life, his own dreams, and his own future to look forward to. But tragically…Conner Peterson, like so many millions of unborn children, was an inconvenient reality – an “unwanted pregnancy” to a selfish parent. And so, tragically…like so many millions of unborn children – Conner Peterson was murdered.
BIG-MEDIA DINOSAURS FACE EXTINCTION

Even today obstinate, lumbering, big-media dinosaurs inhabit and roam the vast terrain of Paleolithic journalism. Theirs is a rapidly dying breed, having succumbed to stubbornly self-inflicted wounds of poorly camouflaged liberal bias – all this, lending credence within conservative circles to the popular “pea-brain” hypothesis.
Among the future-fossils are nearly all major print publications and broadcast news networks, to include: the New York Times (all the news that’s fit to slant), the LA Times (Arnold Schwarzenegger will grope your Aunt), the Washington Compost, CNN – and forget me not to throw in…the pitifully dwindling regal “big three” – NBC, CBS, and ABC (Sorry, just read Green Eggs and Ham to my three-year-old).
Through the process of journalistic evolution, ancestors of the big media dinosaur slithered to land long ago from the deep primordial sludge of liberal ideology. The following are among the more prominently evolved species:
Dan-Rather-raptor (rptr)
noun: of, or relating to leftist class of clever, ancient, cold-blooded reptilian with sharp teeth and little regard for objectivity; carnivore - primary food source: conservative Republican presidents [syn: Document-Daddy-Dan]
Tom-Brokawntosaurus (brkwnt-sôrs)
noun: large, North American herbivorous dinosaur hailing from the Dakotas, noted for slanted, partisan, slurred speech pattern; lives in denial (not the river) of own liberal bias [syn: Tom-Broke-jaw]
Conservatives have been grumbling for decades about the “liberal mainstream media.” Through both act and omission, the media’s reporting on the events of our day, arbitrarily deemed newsworthy by the New York Times, enters our homes through the prism of a demonstrably leftist worldview.
It would seem that most in the press report the news in a manner intended to impress both one another, and other likeminded cultural elites. They clearly strive for the coveted “attaboy” from within their tightly knit fringe fraternity – They’re one big slaphappy family – not a single red-state redneck among them.
With a nepotistic pat on the back here, and a self-aggrandizing Pulitzer there, these dyed-in-the-wool liberals do their thing, perhaps naively buying into the fiction that they truly are “objective.” But, as they report, that dyed wool begins to bleed a pinko shade of blue-state blue, irreparably staining the story, and further damaging their credibility as an un-biased news source. They report – They decide.
With his number-one best selling book Bias, Bernard Goldberg, a CBS insider with nearly 30 years experience as a correspondent, caused a firestorm of controversy (particularly within the mainstream media) when he exposed the liberal man behind the objective mask.
It was the first time a relatively prominent media insider had broken ranks in such a fashion. Goldberg provided the world with a consolidated collection of his own personal experiences, and testimonials from his former colleagues, offering irrefutable evidence of left-wing media bias. Many of those experiences involved Goldberg’s friend and colleague, Dan Rather. For the aforementioned grumbling conservatives, it was nice to be proven right.
Goldberg’s book helped to make permanent within popular lexicon, the term “liberal media bias.” He was branded a traitor, and blacklisted from traditional journalism. The media loves a whistle-blower, so long as they’re not targeted by said whistle.
Just prior to last year’s Presidential election, Bernie was vindicated. Rather-Gate – the forged Bush National Guard documents – you remember the scandal – CBS ran with an old recycled story that was to prove President Bush had been derelict in duty relative to his Air National Guard service some thirty years ago…and, by God, they had the documentary evidence to prove it!
Only problem…the story wasn’t true. Rather relied on forged documents that, if vetted by a public school third grader with just below average intelligence, would have been discounted and discarded, thereby killing the story.
Oh, but how they wanted it so! Would, that it could have been true! CBS News and Dan Rather could taste a John Kerry victory.
A few enterprising web-bloggers determined within hours of the dinosaurs’ airing of the doomed story, that the documents were blatant forgeries.
With the benefit of hindsight, no doubt Danny boy would prefer that he’d stuffed the forged documents in his pants (a la Sandy Berger), taken them with him on his morning constitutional to the little-anchor’s-room, and made more appropriate use of the paper upon which the crude fraud was crafted. But, to his retrospective chagrin, such was not the case.
There was an investigation – four lower level CBS News lackey scapegoats were fired and thrown to the rabid conservative wolves – Rather suddenly decided it was time to retire. “Liberal bias” will now and forever be affixed as the centerpiece of his legacy, and the reality of that same bias in the larger media is both verified and permanently secure.
Enter the new media – the Fox News Channel, talk radio, Internet web-bloggers. It’s a beautiful thing to watch the free market at work. Good old fashion capitalism has broken-up the longstanding media monopoly.
“But what about journalistic integrity? What about accountability?” the dinosaurs groan – this from the same media moguls who, for so very long, had their way with the truth in a vacuum entirely devoid of accountability. Finally, people are pointing out that the emperor has no clothes (Chris Matthews, for the love of all things sacred, put some on)!
But, as with every vacuum, something must fill the void. The new media has stepped up to the plate – it’s their turn to take a swing. The Fox News Channel arrived on the scene with a revolutionary new media concept – “fair and balanced” reporting. In contrast to the dinosaurs, Fox presents both sides of an issue – “We report, you decide.” They’ve taken off like gangbusters and lead the pack, having lapped the other cable-news networks several times over.
Not unlike the dinosaurs, talk radio King Rush Limbaugh and his heir-apparent Sean Hannity are biased (from a conservative perspective of course). The difference is that they don’t claim to be anything but. Full disclosure enables their listeners to consider the words they hear, weigh those words against the speakers’s admitted bias – and to then decide for themselves what is, or is not credible – there’s your accountability.
Web-bloggers and other pajama pundits also share accountability. Oh, sure they can publish anything on the Internet – but for every falsehood, there are a hundred fellow web-bloggers eager to point it out. In fact, it’s the web-bloggers of late who have, in large part, been responsible for holding the mainstream media’s feet to the fire. As singer/songwriter Johnny Lang put it…“it’s been a long time coming.”
So, as the big-media Dinosaurs die off one by one – the catastrophic meteor to blame for their impending extinction is their own damning construct – their transparent liberal bias. That bias is now, and will continue to be the fossil fuel driving tomorrow’s new media – a new media whose long awaited arrival, and much needed influence has already begun.
