PurePolitics.com's 2004 Person of the Year: The National Republican Party

The U.S. National Republican Party has been selected by our visitors and editorial oversight committee as PurePolitics.com's 2004 Person of the Year.

The Year 2004 was a year very historic year in the realm of U.S. politics and global international affairs. During 2004, we had the War on Iraq, Death of Ronald Reagan and Arafat, 9/11 Report, Afghanistan Election, Civil War in Sudan, major hurricanes, election 2004, and the morality split in America.
The National Republican Party made a lot of history in 2004. More than 12 hours after the last polls closed on Nov. 2, 2004, Sen. John Kerry conceded the election and President George W. Bush laid claim to his second term in office. From state capitals to Capitol Hill, Republicans made gains. In the House and Senate, Republicans added to their majorities by consolidating their hold on the South. All 11 state ballot initiatives to ban same-sex marriage passed easily.
